Forgetful hearts.

Forgetful hearts.

Hebrews_6-10: For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister, God Cares

Hebrews_6-10: For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister, God Cares

Psalm 106: 1-15

An Igbo proverb had it that a hen does not forget the person who pruned her feathers in the rainy season. But not for the Israelites, who have forgetful hearts! They soon forgot God’s works. They did not wait for His Counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert (Verses 13, 14). Are we different from the Israelites? We easily forget his abundant mercies, love, providence and deliverance upon our lives and families.

Consider the series of insurgency, raids and violent blood-baths experienced in certain parts of Nigeria in the recent past in the name of socio-religious killings, yet God had preserved our lives. What was the reason for all his deliverance? Vs.8. He saved them for His name’s sake.

Unfortunately, today many Christians easily forget how the Lord redeemed them from their enemies. God has helped many of us through the depths of the red sea of sickness, poverty, barrenness, sin, occultism and idolatry. And the only “Thank You” we can say is to remind him of those prayer points that are unanswered. Only Jesus can restore you back. Go to Him in prayer and appreciation now.

Psalm 106:13 “They soon forgot His works. They did not wait for His Counsel.”

Father, cause me to remember what you have done for me and to show gratitude all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. 7 This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat. 8 Her husband Elkanah would say to her, “Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don’t you eat? Why are you downhearted? Don’t I mean more to you than ten sons?”
