Misplacement of priority

Misplacement of priority

Misplacement of priority can end up in a havoc done to oneself, and the after-effect may last longer than one could imagine. How can one continue to worry over the things God has promised to supply? Worry may damage one’s health and cause the object of your worry to consume your thoughts. Worry can disrupt your productivity. It can negatively affect the way you treat others and can reduce your ability to trust God. That is why Jesus tells us not to worry about those needs God has promised to supply.

How many ill-effects of worry are you experiencing? Worry is not the same as concern. Worry immobilizes while concern moves you to action. Instead of worrying, you can do the first thing first – “first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness”. This means to turn to God first for help, to fill your thoughts with His desire, to take His character for your pattern, and to serve and obey Him in everything.

What really matters to you in life? Is it people, objects, goals and other desires? all compete for priority. Any of these can quickly make you to displace God out of the first place if you don’t truly actively choose to give Him the first place in every area of your life. First thing first! Give God the first place in your life and He will supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Oh God! Help me to adopt this truth of seeking your kingdom and righteousness first. Forgive me my past mistakes in ignorance as I have decided to give you the first place in my life, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
