Genesis 45:1-15

Have you ever wondered why God is often called the Omniscient God? It is because He is the God that knows all things. He knows the future and He knows the end from the beginning. Joseph was hated by his brothers because of his dream and was later sold into the hands of the Midianites, who further sold him into slavery in the land of Egypt (Genesis 37: 5,18-28,36).

Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery with the intention that his dream would not be realized. However, this ploy was part of God’s grand plan to actually establish His promise in the life of Joseph. Indirectly, Joseph’s brothers were also part of God’s plan in bringing Joseph’s vision of becoming a Prime Minister in a foreign land to pass (Genesis 45: 4-8).

Joseph’s brothers thought that he would avenge the evil they did to him, when they eventually knew that he was the man in charge of affairs in Egypt. But he made them to realize that all what they did was part of God’s master plan to place him in a strategic position for his family against the time of famine.

Lessons learnt from this are: no matter what people may do to you, once God is involved in the affair of your life, you will be victorious. Moreover, we should not bear grudge or attempt to revenge whatever wrong done to us.

Beloved, I challenge you to commit your life into the hands of God who knows the future. I can assure you that if you commit your life into His hand, He will never disappoint you (Jeremiah 29:11). You will always be on top of your enemies.

MEMORY VERSE: Genesis 45:7 “And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.”

PRAYER: The All-knowing God, I surrender my life to you, direct my steps in the gloomy paths of this world in Jesus’ name. Amen.
