Hymn : Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers toils and snares
We have already come
Twas grace that brought us this far
And grace will lead us home.

Father, we thank you, we honour your Holy Name.
We thank you for the gift of life, this new day, and all your never failing mercies and blessings in it.
We thank You Father, for the gift of Your Son Jesus Christ, the gift of salvation and another opportunity to fellowship, and approach Your Throne of Grace.

Word of God: Zechariah 4v6-7
“——-.This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, not by might or power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of Hosts
Who are you, O great mountain?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of Grace, grace to it!”

Zerubbabel & Mountain before him? Ezra 2-5
Zerubbabel faced the huge task to rebuild the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem as he returned from Babylon where he had been born to captive parents:

  • Return to a temple completely in ruins. An unbelievable state compared to reputation of splendor of what Solomon built.
  • All resources available to him so limited compared to the rebuilding task he was called to accomplish–
*Zerubbabel’s own power and resources; and the
*Combined might of Zerubbabel and his entire team; physical, financial, social and political
  • Hostile environment full of deceit, conspiracy and intrigue.
  • Had to take a break from the task after only the foundation completed.
  • Great disappointment, fear, and resignation that he Zerubbabel would fail in the task called to rebuild the temple of God.

Zerubbabel chose to put his trust in God and His Word despite threats and the hostile environment. He built an altar. Ezra 3v2-3.

In this month October 2020, many of us are called to rebuild the temple of the Most High God. We as the temple of God, are called to rebuild some aspect or the other of ourselves or of loved ones/others that has been damaged, neglected, left fallow or seemingly destroyed: Church, spirituality, faith, health, physical bodies, finances, businesses, careers, families, homes, relationships and economies etc.

Brethren, today let us lift our voices and ask that by the Grace of God for every need or call to rebuild:
↑↑ We will start on, persevere, be diligent and complete what is required.
↑↑ Every mountain on our way will become a plain.

Let us each claim the word in Zech 4v8-9
“ Moreover the word of the Lord came to me saying ‘The hands of Zerubbabel( put your name) have laid the foundation of this temple, his (my) hands shall also finish it. Then you will know that the Lord of Hosts has sent Me to you’”.

Father I thank You for answered prayers. Glory to Your Name.

Chorus: Give me grace to follow, Abundant grace to follow.
Your Grace is enough for me.

Shalom.
